Happy New Year!
Can you believe it’s a new year?! 2024! I typically mark my new year with a vision board. This year I plan to read more, have some professional benchmarks, and I’m hoping for an incredible 2024 for the Network! On top of launching our website, strategic planning, and planning events and more, we want to make a mark this year! We hope your year is off to a great start as well and you’re manifesting peace, health, and prosperity for yourselves.

We’re heading into what will sure be a contentious election year. LGBTQ people, especially trans young people, continue to be targets for legislation and misinformation. We’re looking forward to engaging political candidates and seeing where they stand on issues that affect LGBTQ healthcare, gender affirming care, LGBTQ youth, and more! We’re kicking this off with the NAACP Candidates Forum at the end of February!

Our Culver’s Fundraiser was a great success this month! We saw so many great friends and made some new connections! Promotion of the event on social media drew some criticism and hate, but honestly any press is good press! Overall, with Culver’s donation of their profit and in person donations as well, we raised over $650 for the LGBTQ Network! Thank you Culver’s for your generosity & commitment to supporting local organizations!
We released our strategic planning survey this month! We’re inviting everyone to submit their feedback in this process! The brief survey (linked in the QR code) will help us know how we’re reaching folks in the community and what services they prioritize. We’re already getting great feedback and we look forward to reviewing the responses with the Board of Directors!
We would love to feature YOU as part of our monthly newsletter! If you have art, poetry, opinions, educational rid bits, or anything else you’d like us to feature as part of our newsletter, send it to us at k3lgbtqnetwork@gmail.com
